- He passed away peacefully at his home in Walnut Creek, CA.
- He had three children with his wife, Joan, including: son, Dion; and daughter, Eve.
- He obtained a bachelor's degree in international relations from the University of California at Berkeley in 1953.
- His family emigrated from the island of Kythira in Greece and settled in the Central Valley of California. They began a hotel business in 1917, when they purchased the Abbott House in Salinas & renamed it the Hotel Cominos. By 1921 it became one of the premier hotels on the central coast of California. He also worked there in his youth.
