Adalgisa Colombo was crowned Miss Distrito Federal (now Rio de Janeiro) and Miss Brazil in 1958. She later in the same year and was the runner-up in the Miss Universe pageant, finishing just behind the Colombian
Luz Marina Zuluaga. For third time, Brazil was runner-up.
