Biography

Cris Collinsworth was born on January 27, 1959 in Dayton, Ohio, USA. He is a writer and producer, known for NBC Sunday Night Football (2006), The NFL on CBS (1956) and NFL Monday Night Football (1970). He has been married to Holly Collinsworth since June 3, 1989. They have four children.

Played wide receiver in the NFL with the Cincinnati Bengals for eight seasons, from 1981-1982 to 1988-1989. Forced to retire due to herniated disks in back.

His mother named him Anthony Cris instead of Cris Anthony because "it sounded too much like 'chrysanthemum'!"

Played college football for the University of Florida.

I (once) told my mom what a fast dude I was. She said 'Don't brag!' I said, 'But it's true!' She said, 'OK, come with me.' She took me outside and beat me (in footraces) three straight, I swear! You don't mess around with Mom!
