Her third husband Francis Cruthers. Was NYC fire fighter. He joined the department in 1949. He rose to become the Fire Chief of the City of New York. Crusher's son went on to become the Fire of NYC as well. They were the only father/son combination to rise that level in NYC history.

Her first husband had been overseas for more than a year. He was at a showing of "Cover Girl" just back from the front. He was tired and fell asleep. He was awakened by another GI whistling. Only to see his wife face on the screen. He was sure he was dreaming.

Jean studied at the Art Students League in Manhattan, N.Y.. She went on to become a talented artist and sculptor.

She married her first husband Robert Foster Fuchs in August of 1943. Just before he was to go overseas to fight in World War II.

The couple had a short honeymoon in Florida before he had to leave for the war in Europe.

Her mother immigrated from England. And was a naturalized American.

All the cover girls that were in the movie "Cover Girl" attended her first wedding. And all 14 cover girls kissed the groom.
