Biography

Robert Coles was born on October 12, 1928 in Boston, Massachusetts, USA. He was an actor and editor, known for Motives (2004), Capturing the Friedmans (2003) and American Experience (1988). He was married to Jane Hallowell. He died on June 4, 2026 in Lincoln, Massachusetts, USA.

Former child psychologist, researcher and professor of psychiatry from Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Went on to graduate from Harvard in 1950. He received a medical degree from Columbia University's College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1954.

Received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1998.
