Biography

Theresa Burns is an accomplished actress and creative force who gained her Equity in 1994 after training at the Oxford School of Drama. With a career spanning theatre, film, and comedy, she has starred in numerous short films and performed across the UK since her teens. A co-founder of Dilemmas Theatre Company and Yellow Poppy Theatre, Theresa also co-founded Folkestone Live in 2024 to celebrate and support live performance and emerging talent. Her stage and screen work has earned her the Graham Fletcher Best Actor Award, and she's known for her witty impressions of Margaret Thatcher, Cilla Black, Dame Edna, and The Queen. From touring Zimbabwe to teaching drama in New York and producing award-winning comedy pilots, Theresa continues to inspire audiences and artists alike with her creativity, warmth, and passion for performance.
