Ann Codee was born on March 5, 1890 in Antwerp, Antwerp, Belgium. She was an actress, known for So Dark the Night (1946), Kiss Me Kate (1953) and Captain Caution (1940). She was married to Frank Orth. She died on May 18, 1961 in Hollywood, Los Angeles, California, USA.

Though multilingual, she was generally typecast as French society matrons, landladies, maids and governesses.

Since she played in over 50 Hollywood movies, she might be considered the most successful Belgian Hollywood actress.

Appeared in vaudeville with her husband in an act billed as 'Codee and Orth' They appeared together in a series of movie shorts, 1929-31.

Daughter of Athleta, a circus artist who was called the strongest woman of the world at the end of the 19th century. Ann and her two sisters started off as circus artists. Together they performed in the famous theater Folies Bergère in Paris.
