- Shannon was born in Greensboro, North Carolina. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. Her work spans film, television, stages large and small, commercials, audio books and directing and teaching. She has a long standing relationship with Steppenwolf Theatre and Chicago. She has had extensive theatre work in the US and Europe, including the world premieres of A Doll's House: Part 2, Bug, Man From Nebraska and Picasso at the Lapin Agile. She received an Obie Award for Bug, as well as Joseph Jefferson Awards for Pal Joey, at the Goodman and Dance of Death at Writers Theatre.
