Originally from Oaxaca, Clavel received recognition in her native state, where she was named the favorite daughter of Pinotepa Nacional on three occasions and received the title of Woman of the Year. In 2011 she promoted the creation of a drama school in her community.

From a young age she showed interest in acting, which led her to move to Mexico City to start her artistic career.

In addition to her artistic career, she participated in trade union activities as part of the Honor and Justice Commission of the National Association of Actors (ANDA).

Although she never had children, Aurora Clavel shared her life with several brothers. Her sister Yolanda was the one in charge of taking care of her in her last years.

In January 2011 she announced that she would open a Dramatic Arts School. After the project was approved by the municipal president Carlos Sarabia Camacho , who also on that same date paid tribute to her for his 50-year artistic career.

She was named "Favorite Daughter of Pinotepa Nacional" on three occasions and "Woman of the Year" of Oaxaca.

In 1966, she made her television debut on an episode of the popular American television series "I Spy.".

At the time of her death, she was one of the last surviving stars from the Golden Age of Mexican cinema and Golden Age of Hollywood.

Clavel appeared in two Euro-westerns: "Guns for San Sebastian" in 1967 as Magdalena and in 1979's TV series "My Friend Winnetou".

A favorite of director Sam Peckinpah, she appeared in several of his films including Major Dundee "The Wild Bunch", "Pat Garrett & Billy the Kid".

Aurora Clavel was a Mexican film and television actress who was noted for her roles in the movies Tarahumara (1965) and Once Upon a Scoundrel (1973), as well as in numerous telenovelas, such as Mama Lupe in Mariana de la Noche.

At an early age she felt attracted to the arts, so she moved to Mexico City where she began her relationship with the artistic medium.

Over almost five decades, she participated in numerous national and international productions.

Aurora was the first member of the Honor and Justice Commission of the National Association of Actors ( ANDA ).
