Biography

Originally from Oaxaca, Clavel received recognition in her native state, where she was named the favorite daughter of Pinotepa Nacional on three occasions and received the title of Woman of the Year. In 2011 she promoted the creation of a drama school in her community.

From a young age she showed interest in acting, which led her to move to Mexico City to start her artistic career.

In addition to her artistic career, she participated in trade union activities as part of the Honor and Justice Commission of the National Association of Actors (ANDA).

Although she never had children, Aurora Clavel shared her life with several brothers. Her sister Yolanda was the one in charge of taking care of her in her last years.

In January 2011 she announced that she would open a Dramatic Arts School. After the project was approved by the municipal president Carlos Sarabia Camacho , who also on that same date paid tribute to her for his 50-year artistic career.
