Biography

Jim Clark was born on May 24, 1931 in Boston, Lincolnshire, England, UK. He was an editor and director, known for The Mission (1986), The Killing Fields (1984) and Marathon Man (1976). He was married to Laurence Méry-Clark and Jessica Andrew. He died on February 25, 2016 in the UK.

Worked on five films of the director John Schlesinger in the 1960's.

Filmed a documentary for the British Army in Germany and "unleashed chaos" after supplying beer to the soldiers, events he later described as akin to "the atmosphere of a painting by Hieronymus Bosch".

Began as a rewind boy on the classic Ealing comedy "The Titfield Thunderbolt" before graduating to assistant editor in 1951.
