Biography

Jimmy Clanton was born on September 2, 1940 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, USA. He is an actor and composer, known for Peggy Sue Got Married (1986), Go, Johnny, Go! (1959) and Teenage Millionaire (1961). He has been married to Roxanne Faye Edtmiller since December 8, 1962. They have three children.

His brother, Ike Clanton, played the bass for famed guitarist Duane Eddy ("Rebel Rouser","Cannonball", "Peter Gunn","Forty Miles Of Bad Road" ).

He had breakthrough hit in 1958 with the standard "Just A Dream"(#4 US Pop).

In 1959, he was the first to record "My Own True Love" ("Tara"s Theme" from Gone with the Wind (1939) and later the theme from TV's Million Dollar Movie (1955)), reaching #33 US Pop.

Inducted into the Louisiana Music Hall of Fame in 2007.
