- She was the very first of a great many writers to work on the script of "Cleopatra" (1963), although producer Walter Wanger seems to have hired her (in 1958) to write a detailed treatment rather than a full screenplay.
- A close friend of Sir Alec Guinness and his wife. When Guinness first arrived in Hollywood (alone) to film "The Swan", she met him off the plane and was with him when, that evening, he accidentally met James Dean at a restaurant.
