Biography

Dennis Chinnery was born on May 14, 1927 in Essex, England, UK. He was an actor, known for Doctor Who (1963), The Avengers (1961) and BBC2 Play of the Week (1977). He was married to Pat Kerr and Dawn Chinnery. He died on February 29, 2012 in Hampshire, England, UK.

Has acted in two Doctor Who Dalek Stories.

Has retired from acting now tends to paint as a hobby and has had some art exhibitions.

He appeared in the Doctor Who (1963) stories Genesis of the Daleks: Part One (1975) and The Twin Dilemma: Part One (1984). In 1998, Doctor Who (1963) fans voted them as the respective best and worst stories in the history of the series in a poll conducted by "Doctor Who Magazine". Chinnery was the only actor to appear in both stories.

Trained at RADA. Acted on the West End stage for five years and, for another two years, in repertory at the Old Vic. Appeared in small film roles, but was considerably more prolific on the small screen.
