Streaming Stars, Then and Now

After studying at Eton, Jeremy Child worked briefly in the City of London. He left at his earliest opportunity, which was a disappointment to his father, who had worked in the Foreign Office and had hoped that his son would join the Guards. To please his father, Jeremy had an interview for the Guards, but when he was asked why he wanted to join, he said 'I don't' and was told 'Well that's the end of your military career'. He then went to drama school, where he learned to fend for himself and to lose his somewhat posh accent. When his father died in the mid '70s, Jeremy inherited his baronetcy, becoming Sir Jeremy, a title that he never used. He had a daughter Melissa from his first marriage and a daughter, Leonora, as well as a son, Alexander, from his second.

Jeremy Child in First Among Equals (1986)

Has the distinction of portraying a British Foreign Secretary three
times in his career; fictional Foreign Secretary Charles Seymour in
First Among Equals, real life Foreign Secretary Sir Samuel Hoare in
Bertie and Elizabeth and real life Foreign Secretary Francis Pym in The
Falklands Play.

Succeeded his father in 1971 to the Child baronetcy of Bromley Place, becoming Sir Coles John Jeremy Child, third Baronet.

Trained at the Bristol Old Vic. Theatre School 1963 - 1965.

He made his West End debut in 1973 in &#39;Conduct Unbecoming&#39; at The Queens Theatre.

He made his theatre debut in 1965 in &#39;Lock Up Your Daughters&#39; at The Bristol Old Vic.

As at October 1980 he was living with Libby Morgan in Fulham.
