Quotes

Keith Chegwin

  • I was in a school play and I was singing the first song that Phil Collins ever wrote. Yeah, true story. I went to the Barbara Speake Stage School and his mother ran the school. Phil was there too and he wrote a song and I sang it. So the first character or part that I had in the show was singing a Phil Collins number, the first song that he ever wrote and I've still got a copy of it!
  • [his final tweet on 28 September 2017 (he died on 11 December 2017)] Still not right. I will be back - But not for a bit yet. I'm so sorry.

But why is it that while we're on air, tearing round someone's house, the phone rings and a family friend shouts "Did you know you're on the telly!?" I reckon they've guessed by then...
