- Tisa Chang was born on April 5, 1941 in Chungking, China. She is an actress, known for Ambush Bay (1966), Year of the Dragon (1985) and Escape from Iran: The Canadian Caper (1981). She has been married to Ernest Abuba since January 25, 1976. They have one child.

- At the age of six, she and her family moved to New York City. Her father Ping Hsan Chang, a Taiwanese diplomat, was appointed as the Republic of China's consul general to the city in 1946.
- Chang established the Pan Asian Repertory Theatre as a resident company at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club in 1977, with the intention of popularizing Asian-American theater. She has worked there as artistic director and has also directed some of her own plays and musicals for the group.
