- Stig Cederholm is the creator of Åsa-Nisse, one of the most popular Swedish film and cartoon characters of all time. The inventive farmer Åsa-Nisse made his debut in 1944 in the weekly magazine Tidsfördrif. Cederholm wrote around fifty books about Åsa-Nisse and there have been twenty film adaptations made through the years.

- He was a member of Waffen SS and and served in Norway and Ukraine. Due to theft, embezzlement and insubordination he was interned at Polizeihäftlingslager Grini in Oslo in 1942.
