David Caudle(II)

David Caudle is an award-winning, published playwright and screenwriter from Miami, Florida, now living in Putnam Valley, New York with his husband, fashion designer Makoto Takada, a dog, two cats and ten chickens. He has written three short films that made festival rounds: Silk, co-written by Marissa Ghavami and directed by John Magaro; Feet of Clay, directed by actor/director Carrie Preston; and Landfill, directed by Anezka Sebek. Other screenplays and teleplays are in various stages of development. His stage plays have been produced across the country at regional theaters and on college campuses. Duet For Three had a showcase at Art/NY Theatre starring Pearl Rhein as Broadway's early woman composer, Kay Swift. A Thousand Cranes was presented in readings at Peekskill's Paramount Theatre and the HOWL! Arts/HOWL! Archives Gallery with spectacular casts. Visiting Hours, was named Best New Play of the year by the Times-Picayune for its premiere in New Orleans, followed by an acclaimed Miami production and a planned NYC production upcoming. Likeness, set in Colonial Boston, had two critically-acclaimed productions and was presented in 2015 at Federal Hall on Wall Street, followed in 2016 by a publication in the online literary journal, Blackbird. His best-known play, The Sunken Living Room, won the Ambie Award for Best New Play, was a Gold Medal Finalist for the Pinter Review Prize, and is published by Samuel French. A few of his plays are also published on indietheaternow.com. Mr. Caudle was a featured signer in the Drama Book Shop's booth at the first annual BroadwayCon. Mr. Caudle was both a Williams Scholar and a Dakin Fellow at the Sewanee Writers Conference. He is an alumnus of the Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group at Primary Stages, and has also developed work at the New Harmony Project, the Sewanee Writer's Conference, Premiere Stages, Downstage Miami, and the Blank Theatre in L.A.
