Biography

  • Hailing from the Big Apple, Andrew Koss studied acting while he was attending college. He attained a Bachelor of Science degree with the intention of going to law school but instead, pursued acting and writing, appearing in films and numerous stage productions throughout N.Y.C. At Lincoln Center, he played the lead role of a nerve-racked soldier under scrutiny in "Officers of War", a one-act play which Andrew both wrote and starred in; the play was selected and produced by The Theatre Within. Koss relocated to Los Angeles after landing the part of a fearsome drug dealer in the award-winning feature film, "True Friends", which appeared on HBO. For Andrew, acting and writing sometimes go hand in hand. He returned to N.Y.C and starred in "Zizi and Honeyboy", along with five time Emmy Award winner Doris Roberts. The screenplay for the film was written by Andrew and was adapted from a N.Y. Times best-selling author's book. For his characterization of the acerbic and downtrodden Gerald Celente, Andrew won the Platinum Award for Best Actor at Cinerockom International Film Festival in Beverly Hills, CA. The film was produced by Andrew and his partners through their production company, Balistarr Entertainment - the film has garnered numerous awards. Andrew went on to appear in a variety of feature films, playing a wide range of contrasting characters. Some mention-able roles include the like-able prick loan officer in "Rich Boy Rich Girl", the fervent FBI director in "American Brawler" and the anti-hero boxing coach in "Cross". NY Newsday Entertainment Editor Daniel Bubbeo has listed Andrew Koss as a rising star.
