Maria Judice da Costa was born in Porto, Portugal. She is known for Mulheres da Beira (1923), Amor de Perdição (1921) and Fátima Milagrosa (1928).

Considered the best opera singer of her time, interpreting Wagner.

Married to the Italian baritone singer Guglielmo Caruson, whose name she temporarily used, and with whom she lived in Milan.

Mother of Brunilde Júdice, who was born in Italy, some say May 15, 1902. For sure, it was days before Maria Júdice was scheduled to appear as Brunhilde in Milan's Opera House, in Wagner's 'Valkyrie' - a contract she couldn't fulfill.
