Biography

Marcélia Cartaxo was born on October 27, 1963 in Cajazeiras, Paraíba, Brazil. She is an actress and director, known for Hour of the Star (1985), Pacarrete (2019) and The History of Eternity (2014).

She won the award of best actress in Berlin Film Festival (Germany) in 1985, for playing Macabéa in "A Hora da Estrela" ("Hour of the Star"). That was just her debut in the big screen.
