Biography

Mino Carta was born on September 6, 1933 in Genoa, Italy. He was an actor, known for Bebel, Garota Propaganda (1968), Vlado: 30 Anos Depois (2005) and Faro 80: O Show (2007). He was married to Maria Angélica Pressoto and Daisy Mesquita. He died on September 2, 2025 in São Paulo, Brazil.

Co-founded some of the Brazil's most influential publications: Quatro Rodas (1960), Brazil's first major automotive magazine; Veja (1968), which became one of the leading weekly news magazines; and IstoÉ (1976), another prominent news outlet.

In 1994, he founded CartaCapital, a progressive magazine known for its strong political stances against corruption and authoritarianism.

After moving to Brazil in 1946, he started his career in the 1950s and soon became a pioneer in modern journalism.
