- Starred in many films made in the former Yugoslavia during the '70s.
- Trained for a job in banking, but changed his mind and turned to acting instead. First on stage with the Youth Theatre of Hanover in 1948. On screen, inevitably cast as Nazi officers, beginning with the 08/15 (1954) trilogy. At his evil best in Dark of the Sun (1968).
- He moved to Yugoslavia in 1970. Has been based in Slovenia since 1999.
