  • From his beginnings as a producer/director of documentary films, music specials and feature films, to his current work as experience designer, creative director and show runner of game-based learning and simulations, educational technology, web and mobile applications, Richard's work spans multiple media and industry segments.

    Recent projects include training simulations and games, game-inspired mobile apps to drive employee motivation, consumer web and mobile apps for semantic content curation, course-building tools for college and professional instructors, literacy, fluency and numeracy products for K-12, learning management systems, e-commerce systems, and more. Recent clients include Macmillan Science and Education, Impact Simulations, Grupo Elektra, The Economist, PCI Education, Essilor International, The College Board, McGraw-Hill Higher Education, and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

    Before establishing Richard Carey Digital Media in 2006, Richard served as the Director of Educational Technology Product Development for Pearson Education, and as the Director of Emerging Technology Research and Development for Scholastic.

    A life-long entrepreneur, he previously founded and served as managing director of Television Theater Company, Interactive Magic Associates (InterMagicA) and Mind Reading Enterprises, with producing and directing credits on award winning corporate media (CBS, Disney, Dow Jones, Pepsi, Pfizer), television entertainment (ABC, HBO, Showtime, Universal), multimedia installations (Springfield Museum of Science, Boston Museum of Transportation, Concord Friends of the Performing Arts), as well as documentaries for the Minneapolis Children's Theater Company, WGBH Boston, and the National Endowment for the Humanities.
