Biography

Brian Capron was born on February 11, 1947 in Eye, Suffolk, England, UK. He is an actor, known for Coronation Street (1960), Emma (1996) and 101 Dalmatians (1996). He has been married to Jacqueline Bucknell since June 2, 2003. They have one child. He was previously married to Janette Legge.

He and his wife Jacqueline own a corporate event business in Brighton, called 'The Brilliant Company', which specialises in organising murder mysteries, gameshows, teambuilding events and themed parties.

Before achieving fame on ITV's Coronation Street (1960) as serial killer Richard Hillman in 2002 he appeared on the soap back in 1981-1982 playing a different character called Donald.

He played six different characters, at different times, in the popular ITV drama The Bill (1984).

He has three children: Lucy (born November 1975) and Ellen (born June 1978) with his first wife, and Louis (born June 1996) with his second wife Jacqueline Bucknell.

He is one of three Coronation Street (1960) actors to have won the Best Actor award at the British Soap Awards; the others are Antony Cotton and Alan Halsall.

[on Coronation Street (1960)] There is no time for rehearsals and there are such tight camera moves. The minute I walk into the Platts' house, I have to look totally natural. I think docusoaps have had an effect on what we do. They are totally natural and mean that actors have to not 'act' even less. It's like when someone asked Jack Lemmon if it was easy to look that comfortable on screen and he said, 'No, I work my bollocks off to look that natural'.
