John Cantwell was born on December 15, 1967 in Vicksburg, Mississippi, USA. He is an actor and writer, known for Legally Blonde (2001), Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008) and Grand Finale: A New York Odyssey.

"Blondie" lead singer and actress Debbie Harry's signature is tattooed on Cantwell's right shoulder. In 1995 for his birthday, Ms. Harry was invited to a NYC tattoo parlor, where she signed several autographs for John, one of which was tattooed on his arm. A section in Cathay Che's 1999 biography of Debbie, "Platinum Blonde", is devoted to this meeting.
