Biography

Corinne Cantrill was born on November 6, 1928 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. She was a director and producer, known for At Uluru (1978), Harry Hooton (1969) and Ocean at Point Lookout (1977). She was married to Arthur Cantrill. She died on February 18, 2025 in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia.

Has two sons, Aaron and Ivor.

Provocative avant-garde filmmaker.

With her husband Arthur edited and published 100 issues of the experimental film journal Cantrills Filmnotes between 1971 and 2000.

In 2011 she was awarded Membership of the Order of Australia (AM) 'for service to the visual arts as a documentary and experimental film maker, and to education in the creative arts fields, particularly surrealism and avant-garde cinema'.
