Biography

Marji Campi was born on October 19, 1938 in Liverpool, Lancashire, England, UK. She is an actress, known for Surgical Spirit (1989), What Now? (1986) and Coronation Street (1960). She has been married to Anton Gill since January 2005. She was previously married to Oriol Guardiola Campi.

Trained at the East 15 Acting School in the early '60s.

Has two sons from her first marriage: Daniel (b.1968) and Matthew (b.1970).

Is fluent in French and Spanish.

One of her best known and longest-running roles was that of neurotic and gossipy hospital administrator Joyce Watson in the ITV comedy series Surgical Spirit (1989), which she has described as one of her most favourite jobs.

[on Surgical Spirit (1989)] One of my strongest memories is of my face aching from so much laughing! We had such a good time and I used to really look forward to starting again each year... I made friends for life on that show. One of my favourite jobs.
