- Antônio Calmon was born in 1945 in Manaus, Amazonas, Brazil. He is a writer and director, known for Na Forma da Lei (2010), Vamp (1991) and Happily Ever After (1985).
- Met up with director and stars of Dracula (1992) on set in October 1991. Such meeting was arranged by Bruno Barreto. Calmon told Francis Ford Coppola about his series Vamp (1991) and had him laughing at the idea of a vampire telenovela. The movie would be a main inspiration for Calmon's following vampire series O Beijo do Vampiro (2002).
