Geoff Callan is an award-winning actor, writer, director, and producer with more than 30 years of experience across film, television, advertising, and digital media.

A fifth-generation San Franciscan, Callan has built an unusually versatile career in entertainment, seamlessly balancing dynamic on-screen performances with an accomplished track record behind the camera.

A seasoned performer with a commanding yet accessible presence, Callan possesses a rare dramatic and comedic range, drawing industry comparisons to the versatile charm and quick-witted magnetism of Michael Keaton and Tom Hanks.

Callan’s acting career encompasses both comedic and dramatic roles alongside some of Hollywood’s most recognized performers.

Callan recently joined the cast as an actor in HBO's limited series Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: an Almost History of America (2026) "Life, Larry and the Pursuit of Unhappiness: An Almost History of America," appearing in Episode 7, "Lawrence." He shares a scene with Larry David Larry David, Fred Melamed Fred Melamed, Romy Reiner Romy Reiner, Neil Casey Neil W. Casey, Lisa Arch Lisa Arch, and Joe Regalbuto Joe Regalbuto.

Callan has been fortunate throughout his career to work alongside some of the industry's most talented actors and creative professionals, and describes his experience on the HBO series as a particularly memorable one. He is especially grateful to director Jeff Schaffer Jeff Schaffer, Larry David, producer Adam Feil, everyone at Higher Ground, casting director Allison Jones Allison Jones, Emily Buntyn Emily Buntyn, and the entire cast and crew for the opportunity to be part of the production.

As an actor, Callan has appeared in multiple feature films and television productions and has worked alongside some of Hollywood's most recognized actors. His screen credits include The Pursuit of Happyness (2006) "The Pursuit of Happyness," opposite Will Smith Will Smith; Hemingway & Gellhorn (2012) "Hemingway & Gellhorn," opposite Nicole Kidman Nicole Kidman; Bottle Shock (2008) "Bottle Shock," alongside Chris Pine Chris Pine; and Zodiac (2007) "Zodiac," featuring Mark Ruffalo Mark Ruffalo. He has also appeared in Twisted (2004) "Twisted," alongside Ashley Judd Ashley Judd.

Callan's acting work has included both dramatic and comedic roles, and he has frequently been cast in scenes alongside established leading performers. His work in film and television spans more than two decades.

A fifth-generation San Franciscan, Callan has built an unusually diverse career in the entertainment industry, working as an actor while also establishing himself as an award-winning producer and director. He is the founder and president of Emergency Clock Productions, through which he has produced and directed documentaries, feature films, short films, television programs, Super Bowl commercials, original web series, and national and international media campaigns.

Callan co-wrote, co-directed, and produced The Push: Owning Your Reality Is Where the Journey Begins (2018) "The Push: Owning Your Reality Is Where the Journey Begins," a feature documentary about world-class adventurer Grant Korgan, who suffered a spinal cord injury while filming a snowmobiling segment in the Sierra Nevada backcountry. In 2012, Korgan became the first spinal-cord-injured athlete to push himself nearly 100 miles to the geographic South Pole. The film chronicles Korgan's extraordinary determination, perseverance, and pursuit of an almost unimaginable goal. "The Push" received numerous awards at film festivals, including Best Documentary at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival and Best Feature Documentary at the Long Beach International Film Festival. IMDb credits Callan as a co-director and producer.

Callan also produced and co-directed Pursuit of Equality (2005) "Pursuit of Equality," an award-winning documentary examining the marriage-equality movement that emerged in San Francisco in 2004. The film featured Gavin Newsom, Rosie O'Donnell, Al Sharpton, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and others, and explored the national debate surrounding marriage equality following San Francisco's historic decision to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

The film received recognition at film festivals, and Callan was honored with GLAAD's "Local Hero Award." He was also recognized by 7x7 Magazine as an "Innovative Leader in the Creative Industry" in the category of Independent Filmmaking.

In 2013, Callan was hand-selected by Sony to compete as a director in the Napa Valley Film Festival's Sony 4K Film Challenge.

Prior to founding his production companies, Callan served as Executive Producer of One World Network's new-media division, where he was responsible for film, video, internet production, and the development of original on- and off-line content. He also served as Director of Business Development and Director of Syndication.

Callan continues to pursue acting in film and television while developing projects as a producer and director.
