- James T. Callahan was born on October 4, 1930 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA. He was an actor, known for Knight Rider (1982), Tales of the Gold Monkey (1982) and The Governor & J.J. (1969). He was married to Peggy Cannon. He died on August 3, 2007 in Fallbrook, California, USA.

- His first job was in the postal service, after which he went back to complete his schooling in the midwest. On the advice of a teacher, he enrolled at the University of Washington where he discovered his passion for dramatic art.

- Although his acting career dates back to the early 1960s with hundreds of appearances, he is probably best known for playing Mr. Powell on the 80s sitcom Charles in Charge (1984). The Mr. Powell character was a proud Navy man while Callahan himself served in the Army.
