Biography

Rita Benis is a Portuguese award-winning screenwriter, best known for "Sombras" (2025), "Mar" (2019), "Bobô" (2013) and "Kiss me" (2004). She is also a film director. Assistent Professor at ESTC, Escola Superior Teatro e Cinema, Lisbon, she has also translated, edited, and published books/articles on the relationship between writing and cinema. She is a founding member and vice president of Mutim - Association of Women Workers in Moving Images.
