Michel Butel was born on September 19, 1940 in Tarbes, Hautes-Pyrénées, France. He was a writer and actor, known for Milan noir (1988), Das weite Land (1987) and Dieu seul me voit (1998). He died on July 26, 2018 in Paris, France.

Journalist, author and newspapers editor, his father was one of the creators of France's Social Security.
