Biography

Malandra Burrows was born on November 4, 1965 in Woolton, Liverpool, England, UK. She is an actress, known for Emmerdale: Revenge (1998), Emmerdale Farm (1972) and Brookside (1982).

She had a U.K. number 11 single with "Just This Side of Love" in December 1990. This resulted in a recording contract with Warner Bros and two more singles ("Carnival in Heaven" and "Don't Leave Me") hit the UK charts, albeit the lower reaches (#49 and #54, respectively).

Malandra is a portmanteau of her parents' names Malcolm and Sandra.

As a child singer she was known as Malandra Newman, a surname she adopted because she thought it sounded better.
