Catherine Lloyd Burns was born on April 19, 1961 in New York City, New York, USA. She is an actress and writer, known for Keeping the Faith (2000), Michael (1996) and Everything Put Together (2000). She has been married to Adam Forgash since January 10, 1999. They have one child.

Was engaged to writer/director Kenneth Lonergan.

Daughter of Red Burns

She is the author of the middle grade novels The Good, the Bad & the Beagle, The Half True Lies of Cricket Cohen and It Hit Me Like a Ton of Bricks, a memoir of a mother and daughter.

She turned down a role to play Caroline Duffy in Caroline in the City (1995) in favor of Lea Thompson.
