Scott A. Buckwald is a veteran property master with decades of experience in film and television. Known for his attention to detail and practical approach to prop sourcing, Scott has worked across a wide range of genres, from period dramas to science fiction, action, and dark comedy.
He holds a degree in historical research, which enhances his ability to conduct in-depth period-specific research and contributes to the authenticity of his work across film and television period or contemporary. This background has been especially valuable on projects like The Prestige (2006), directed by Christopher Nolan, where recreating 19th-century details was essential, and Mad Men, which required meticulous adherence to 1960s aesthetics.
His additional television credits include The Old Man (starring Jeff Bridges), Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Dead to Me, and The Shield. On the feature side, his work includes American Pie 2, American Wedding, Piranha 3D, and The Game Plan.
Scott is the co-creator and co-editor of Prop Culture, a quarterly magazine published by the Property Masters Guild, alongside fellow PMG member Theresa Corvino. Launched in 2024, the publication focuses on the art and craft of property mastering, offering in-depth interviews, features, and articles covering a wide range of topics related to the field.
He remains an active member of the Property Masters Guild and continues to contribute to both studio and independent productions, bringing research-driven insight and practical experience to every project.
