Morris Buchanan was born on February 26, 1923 in Riverside, California, USA. He was an actor, known for Coffy (1973), Panther Girl of the Kongo (1955) and St. Ives (1976). He was married to Noella Austin and Bessie K. Brown. He died on August 14, 2014 in Riverside, California, USA.

Retired from acting to become an African Methodist Episcopal pastor.

Was a pastor at Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Fontana, CA, from 1989-2004.

His daughter Morrie Buchanan Allen went missing in 1979, allegedly murdered by her husband and several accomplices.

Founding pastor of Culver City AMEC, and pastor of Bethel AMEC, Fontana, CA. He continued his ministry as Spiritual Advisor at Corona Community AMEC, Corona, CA ; St. James AMEC, St. Louis, MO; and Allen Chapel AMEC, Riverside, CA.

Founder and creator of the Richard Allen Theater Guild at FAME, Pasadena, CA, using his theatrical skills as the director and producer of numerous plays and musicals.
