    On August 9, 2018, he died from heart failure in Moscow at the age of 61. He was treated for heart failure in the Botkin hospital for the last two months of his life. Doctors noted positive dynamics in the treatment and he felt well. He didn't take time off from his career believing that he could overcome the illness without leaving work. However, the day before the death, his condition deteriorated sharply.
