  • Rob Bruce is a Los Angeles and Mammoth Lakes based director and director of photography. His career has spanned more than 20 years with success in genre's including action, lifestyle, documentary, adventure, motor sports and sports. Bruce served as writer and director of the critically acclaimed Emmy nominated documentary film McConkey, nominated in the 2015 Outstanding Sports Documentary category. Bruce's work includes serving as action unit director and director of photography for the wing-suit action sequence in Transformers 3 - Dark of the Moon, which took home a Taurus World Stunt Award for Best Specialty Stunt sequence and a SAG award nomination for Outstanding Performance By Stunt Ensemble. Rob also served as writer and executive producer for Art of Flight - The Series for Netflix. Bruce most recently served as 2nd unit Director and Director of Photography on the Point Break remake for Warner Brothers and 2nd unit director of Photography on the film Playing With Fire for Paramount. When not working freelance as a director / dp Rob is developing, directing and cinematographer for direct to brand action, lifestyle and documentary content for Red Bull, BF Goodrich and Michelin. Additionally, Rob has been director and or cinematographer on commercials for Apple, BF Goodrich, Michelin, Lincoln, Pacifico, Red Bull, Adidas, Google and Lenovo. Bruce's experience in several roles as director, writer, EP and cinematographer along with his successes in both the niche and mainstream markets make him an indispensable asset regardless the genre or budget. Bruce is also the owner of Brolly Pictures. Brolly is a Clio nominated production services company that specializes in cutting edge direct to brand digital content development and execution.

    Rob won an international 2016 Silver Clio award for outstanding cinematography on the Samsung "snail" ad created by Leo Burnett ChicagoThe feature length documentary he directed and photographed titled Distance Between Dreams won the 2016 Surfer Poll "Best Documentary" award among others.
