George R. Brown(1910-1990)

Songwriter ("I Never Loved Anyone") and author, educated at New York
University (pre-law) and the University of North Carolina (BA). He
wrote songs for radio and films, and for Broadway revues. During World
War II he served in the Special Services. Joining ASCAP in 1942, he
collaborated musically with Jule Styne, Sol Meyer, Irving Actman, and
Eddie Maxwell. His popular-song compositions include "Spring in
Vienna", "You Took Me Out of This World", "A Hundred Kisses from Now",
"Puddin' Head", "Tumble Down Shack in Havana", Melody and Moonlight",
and "Leave It to Joan".
