R.L. Brown was born in 1854 in Abbeville, South Carolina, USA. He was an actor, known for Regeneration (1923) and The Flying Ace (1926). He died on 24 August 1948 in Jacksonville, Florida, USA.
The Reverend R. L. Brown was one of the leading African-American residents of Jacksonville, Florida; besides serving as a Baptist minister, the Reverend was also a carpenter turned house builder and an architect, as well as an educator and local politician, having served two terms in the Florida House of Representatives (1881-85). A school named for him still stands in Jacksonville.
