Biography

  • Jon Brion was born on December 11, 1963 in Glen Ridge, New Jersey, USA. He is a composer and actor, known for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004), The Other Guys (2010) and Step Brothers (2008).

Trivia

  • Performs an immensely popular, semi-improvisational cabaret act at L.A.-based nightclub Largo, every Friday night.
  • Music producer/composer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. He collaborated and/or produced albums of Aimee Mann, Fiona Apple, Rufus Wainwright, David Byrne, and the Eels.
  • Favorite film score is Anton Karas's The Third Man (1949).
  • He always said that his worst nightmare was to fail as a rock star. Although he did fail, with the help of Power Player Craig Braginsky (with whom he worked with for 3 years in the 80s), he was able to meet Braginsky's producer Tony Berg and has since done some fine session work and scoring of a few films. He produced and played on many early recordings of Braginsky (who under his stage name has written and performed many chart toppers). These recordings are a prime example of his genius for musicianship and production. In the early 80s, he toured Japan with his band while Braginsky opened for acts such as Cheap Trick. He also appeared in a video with Craig, but it was never released.
  • Co-produced Ye's sophomore album "Late Registration" (2005).
