Biography

After graduating with a master's degree in photography, James was introduced to the film business in 1985 with a visit to the set of Blue Velvet at the invitation of director David Lynch. His photograph of Dennis Hopper propelled him into a career as an on set still photographer on feature films that spanned three decades. During that time, James worked with 38 Oscar winning actors and 6 Oscar winning directors including Francis Ford Coppola, Joel Coen, George Lucas, and Sydney Pollock. James retired from the film business in 2017 to pursue personal work and continues to travel the world with a camera.
