- Kurt Brenkendorf was born on June 13, 1886 in Danzig, West Prussia, Germany [now Gdansk, Pomorskie, Poland]. He was an actor and writer, known for Die Jagd nach dem Tode (1920), Die Jagd nach dem Tode - 4. Teil: Die Goldmine von Sar-Khin (1921) and Die Jagd nach dem Tode - 3. Teil: Der Mann im Dunkel (1921). He died on September 10, 1944 in Berlin, Germany.
- He soon became a popular movie actor especially in crime films, among others he got an own film serial with the figure Detective Joe Jenkins he impersonated.
- He got an acting education at the theaters in Danzig and Dresden.
- In order to earn his living he also worked as a facility manager for a manufactory for several years at that time.
- He made his professional stage debut in 1903 in his native city, afterwards followed engagements at theaters in different cities. Finally he came to Berlin where he acted on stage as well. Because Berlin was the metropolis of the new arising film business Kurt Brenkendorf came soon in touch with this medium.
- Before he decided to become an actor he finished an education as a draughtsman but soon the theater appealed him so much that he decided to work as an actor.
