Biography

Hans Brennert was born on June 24, 1870 in Berlin, Germany. He was a writer and director, known for The Log of the U-35 (1919), Mania. Die Geschichte einer Zigarettenarbeiterin (1918) and Algol: Tragedy of Power (1920). He died on February 8, 1942 in Berlin, Germany.

He joined the film business in 1915 and he wrote the screenplays for numerous movies of the 10s.

Besides his activity as a screenwriter he also realised few movies as a director with "Der magische Gürtel" (1920) and "Ufer der Arbeit" (1920).

The screenwriter Hans Brennert finished his study for political science, philosophy and literature before he started his professional life as a journalist for the "Berliner Tageblatt". He also was active as an author for the radio and theater.
