Cousin of Bob Mackie

Originally screen-tested for the part of Patty Williams on The Young and the Restless (1973). William J. Bell was however so impressed by Bregman's skills that he and then-writer Sally Sussman created the part of Lauren Fenmore for her. A part she now has played for three decades.

She has two sons, Austin Recht (b. March 18, 1991) and Landon Recht (b. October 18, 1996) with her ex-husband Ronald Recht.

Even though she was not on contract at The Young and the Restless (1973) from 2001-2013, she was still featured prominently in many story lines, which is usually not the case for recurring characters.
