Born and raised in Bristol in England's west country, Sam Breach is a 3D visual FX artist with professional experience in the field of 3d Animation since 1988 when she attained a First Class BA Honours degree in Communication and Media Production from Bournemouth University, England. Her media career diversified for a short while in the early 1990s when she edited a magazine on how to win consumer competitions and also appeared every week on Channel 4's 'The Big Breakfast' as Guest Competition Expert with Paula Yates. She also wrote a competition column for the UK's Daily Mail newspaper. Until Summer 1999, Breach was Head of 3D Animation at VTR's 'The Film Factory' where visual effects for Lost In Space, Virtual Sexuality and Deep Blue Sea were completed. She spent the next two years as a freelance 3d Specialist in Europe and worked on the pitch for a new CG TV series called 'Johnny Pumpkin' with Seven Worldwide, a modern-day version of 'Cinderella' directed by Bafta winner Beeban Kidron for showing on the UK's Channel 4 on New Years Day 2000, on a Captain Scarlet pilot with Gerry Anderson, on pre-vis for the first Harry Potter Movie and also the first Lara Croft movie at Leavesden and Pinewood studios respectively. Breach spent a month in Gothenburg Sweden working on a promotional film for Volvo Cars too. In January 2001 Breach moved to Northern California to work for George Lucas's "Industrial Light and Magic" Visual FX Company as a Technical Director. She has since cross trained as a Compositor and is able to provide her services as either depending on the demands of the production.
