Richard Bransten was born on February 24, 1906 in San Francisco, California, USA. He was a writer, known for Margie (1946), Song of Surrender (1949) and San Diego I Love You (1944). He was married to Ruth McKenney and Louise Rosenberg. He died on November 18, 1955 in London, England, UK.

American author, journalist and historian who collaborated on a number of projects with his second wife, Ruth McKenney.

As Bruce Minton, he served as editor of the Communist publication New Masses before his expulsion from the party in 1946.
