Max Braithwaite was born on 7 December 1911 in Nokomis, Saskatchewan, Canada. He was a writer, known for Wind at My Back (1996), Why Shoot the Teacher? (1977) and Look Alert, Stay Unhurt! (1955). He was married to Ida Margarete Aileen Trealeaven. He died on 19 March 1995 in Brighton, Ontario, Canada.
